Usanas Foundation is launching the fifth edition of the Usanas Scholars Program. The Course theme is From Proxy Warfare to Digital Jihad: Terrorism and the Transformation of Global Security. The course is commencing from 5 January 2027. The course consists of live online lectures, each lasting 1.5 hours.
The Usanas Scholars Program 2027 offers a comprehensive exploration of this evolving threat landscape, with a particular focus on South Asia, its connections with West Asia and Africa, and the wider implications for global security. The programme examines the transformation of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan-linked proxy organisations such as TRF, PAFF, and the Kashmir Tigers, and the resurgence of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). It investigates the transnational networks of ISKP and AQIS, the changing dynamics of Islamism in Nepal and Bangladesh, and allegations concerning Pakistan’s ISI and its links with regional militant networks.
The Usanas Scholars Program 2027 goes beyond conventional discussions of terrorism to examine who shapes the contemporary security order, how terrorist networks adapt, and why their evolution matters in an era of great power competition. Through expert-led lectures, contemporary case studies, and strategic assessments, participants will develop the analytical skills to understand emerging threats, decode complex militant ecosystems, and connect local security developments with wider geopolitical shifts.
