Dr. Anita Jain

Dr. Anita Jain, Head, Department of Botany, Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute, Udaipur is an active researcher pursuing research in the field of Ethnobotany, Plant Taxonomy and Assessment of Biodiversity since last 25 years. She is NABET approved ‘A’ grade Functional Area Expert in EB and Soil conservation. She is engaged in inventorization, documentation and validation of folk wisdom of tribals and rural communities of Rajasthan. She prepared encyclopaedia on Ethnomedicinal and Ethnoveterinary knowledge of tribals of Rajasthan.    She also prepared 'Bibliography of Ethnobotany of India' in 2016.  She guided her Ph.D. students to complete their doctorate degree.  She delivered her research work in front of science fraternity in several international and national conferences, symposia, and seminars. Dr. Jain has published four books and more than 50 research papers in various national and international Journals. Dr. Jain is a recipient of several awards & medals -Young Scientist award in 2002, Dr. Vishwnathan Mudgal medal 2010, Dr. D.C. Pal medal 2012 and NESA scientist of the year award -2020. She successfully completed several research projects funded by MoEF, CSIR, DST and Institute of Ethnobiology, Gwalior, Municipality of Aahrus, Denmark.

From beginning Dr. Jain engaged in diverse academic activity and delivered several extension & expert lectures on various fora to create awareness for the promotion and conservation of TK, traditional practices and biodiversity to all the category of stake holders including students, farmers, medicine men, tribals and rural people, academician, scientist etc.
