
Lt Col Ujjual Abhishek Jha (Retd) is an Intelligence veteran and Geopolitical Risk Analyst with over two decades of experience in Military Intelligence and National Security operations across sensitive theatres of the North East, Punjab and Gujarat borders.
He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and Military Intelligence Training School and Depot, Pune. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, and is a Certified Diploma holder in International Relations from Indian Institute of Governance & Leadership and National Institute of Diplomacy.
Jha’s areas of expertise include South Asian regional stability, counter-terrorism, economic statecraft, investigating illicit financial networks and insider threat detection, as well as information warfare. He brings in a rare operational depth to the security analysts community converting multi-theatre experience into actionable publications, bridging the critical gap between field-level intelligence and policymakers, security practitioners and strategic decision-makers. He was one of the earliest intelligence officers to understand the challenge posed by radicalisation across the country.

Jha was a Specialized Instructor at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla. He has lectured at various Army formations and State Police Headquarters.
He was awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card twice, GOC-in-C Commendation Card and Appreciation letters from ED, Gujarat Police, Assam Police and Punjab Police.
